Historical society celebrates ‘Merchants & Memories’

On Feb. 5, the La Jolla Historical Society held a corporate member appreciation night at the Wisteria Cottage in conjunction with the opening of the exhibition “Merchants & Memories: Reflections on La Jolla’s Business Community Heritage.”

The free exhibition runs through Feb. 21 and highlights many of La Jolla’s commercial enterprises that have operated here since the late 1800s. Among the businesses featured are Warwick’s, Dewhurst & Associates, Meanley & Son Hardware, Rushton’s Bicycle Shop, Harry’s Coffee Shop, Brockton Villa Restaurant and Burn’s Drugs.
