Governmental offices closed for Cesar Chavez Day
State, county and city offices are closed today in honor of Cesar Chavez Day.
State offices such as the Department of Motor Vehicles are closed, as is the court system.
County of San Diego administrative offices and libraries also are shut down, but parks will be open.
Administrative offices in the city of San Diego are also closed, as arel libraries, recreation centers, the Tecolote Nature Center and Mission Trails Park Visitors Center. Golf courses, the Miramar Landfill and Chollas Lake are open.
Parking meter regulations are not being enforced today in the city of San Diego, and trash collection will be delayed one day.
Metropolitan Transit System buses and trolleys will run on their normal weekday schedules, and emergency services in all jurisdictions will not be affected.
The holiday honors the late Cesar E. Chavez, the co-founder of the National Farm Workers Association.
