Gooooo, Vikings! Students try out for LJHS cheer squad

Aspiring cheerleaders took over part of the La Jolla High School football field last week to learn the routines that they performed for five judges at Friday’s final tryouts. Coaches Robin Faulhaber, a 2008 LJHS grad, and Leah Sturdevant, a San Diego State University cheerleader, led practices throughout the week.

On Tuesday, the group included Dorina Sandoval, Clifford Naimon, Taurey Souza, Nadaeja Shaheed, Ariana Abraham, Jenny Shorenstein, Erin Burns, Kiara Estrada, Haley Gallivan, Phoebe Guimer, Aviel Brown and Kiersten Baker
