Girl Scouts earn Silver Awards

Fourteen La Jolla Girl Scouts were among the 239 who received Silver Awards at the Starlight Theater in Balboa Park. The Silver Award recognizes the Scouts for their hard work and accomplishments as they grow and work to improve their lives and the lives of others. The four steps for the Girl Scout Silver Award help the girls explore career opportunities, gain leadership skills and commit to something on their own without major help from others.

Troop 3093 hosted a weekend encampment in Julian for 80 other Girl Scouts. The purpose was to empower the girls to continue in Scouting for the benefits and fun that it offers.

Troop 3093 leaders are Pat Pickett and Debbie Tedford.
