Sixth-graders decorate Wisteria Cottage

A short field trip transformed the La Jolla Historical Society’s Wisteria Cottage last week. Sixth-graders from Johanna Weber’s class at La Jolla Elementary School kept up the tradition started years ago when the town’s children would paint retail storefront windows at Halloween. Historical Society trivia buffs report that if you look up at the north-facing dormer window, you’ll find a ghost painted by the art teacher, Joanna Meyers, who has since taken up year-round residency. Depending on the time of year, the ghost can be found sporting an Easter basket, or some other item reflecting a holiday.
