Geisel Library puts new spin on Thanksgiving

Share

UCSD’s Geisel Library gave new meaning to turkey last week.

From turkey calling to songs about the traditional Thanksgiving bird, the library had a decidedly different sound on Wednesday.

A live musical show led by Scott Paulson, outreach coordinator for UCSD’s Arts Library and the creator of The Teeny-Tiny Pit Orchestra, kicked off the Wednesday celebration.

Wednesday’s event was presented in the style of old-time radio shows. Paulson and his orchestra, including student Matt Swagler who played his small drum set using a turkey feather, performed classic holiday songs, like “Autumn Leaves.”
