Geezer Bandit hits SD National Bank; FBI releases images

The FBI released two photographs Thursday of an older man believed to be responsible for six bank robberies in San Diego County.

The so-called “Geezer Bandit” struck most recently on Wednesday at San Diego National Bank, 1075 Rosecrans St., when he gave a demand note to a clerk and displayed a silver and black handgun, according to the FBI.

He was described as a man in his 60s, about 6 feet tall and 190 pounds, and wearing a white hooded sweatshirt with a white ball cap.

The photographs from Wednesday’s robbery show the man at a counter and walking away, but both images are relatively small and show him at a distance.

Investigators believe the robber has also held up banks La Jolla, Rancho Santa Fe, San Diego and Santee since Aug. 28, according to the FBI.

Rewards for his capture and conviction total $16,000.
