Gas prices countywide may have peaked for now

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County recorded its largest daily decline since Jan. 23 today, falling three-tenths of a cent to $4.378.
The average price is six-tenths of a cent more than one week ago, 51.3 cents higher than a month ago and 40.7 cents greater than a year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.
The decrease is the third in 47 days. The average price declined one- tenth of a cent Wednesday and two-tenths of a cent Thursday. It has increased 41 of the last 47 days, including four-tenths of a cent both Saturday and Sunday.
