Fundraiser to feature silent movie

Lyric Opera San Diego is taking a trip back in time to the glory days of its home, the Birch North Park Theatre, with a unique fundraising event featuring a silent movie classic with live musical accompaniment.

“Music and Mirth at the Movies,” featuring the Buster Keaton classic comedy, “Sherlock, Jr.”, will be held at 7 p.m Sept. 11. Music accompaniment will be provided by Dr. Philip Carlie. In addition to the main feature, two short subjects and a classic cartoon will be shown.

General admission tickets are $12; $10 for students and seniors and $8 for children. Tickets are available at
