Two men led authorities of a high-speed chase early Monday morning from La Costa to La Jolla, where they fled on foot, police said.
The chase on southbound Interstate 5 began just north of La Costa Avenue around 2:20 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
It ended several minutes later when the two exited La Jolla Village Drive and abandoned their vehicle near Nobel and Lebon drives, San Diego police said.
San Diego police helped the CHP search for the suspects on side streets but the men got away. Police said the men are believed to have been driving a stolen van containing a stolen motorcycle.
