Free cupcakes offered by Sprinkles La Jolla for first anniversary

Sprinkles La Jolla is getting ready to celebrate its one-year anniversary on Friday, Jan. 13, offering a free cupcake to each guest all day, as well as an in-store appearance by Candace Nelson, owner and judge of the Food Network series, Cupcake Wars.

The Sprinklesmobile will also be cruising San Diego and distributing free cupcakes all day on Saturday, Jan. 14. Starting January 6th, Sprinkles is also rolling out three new, limited-time cupcakes, including the S’more cupcake by Blake Lively, a German Chocolate flavor and “The King”, an ode to Elvis.

S’more by Blake Lively -- Jan. 6 to Feb. 2

Blake Lively has teamed up with Sprinkles to create a S’more cupcake using her favorite ingredients, with 100% of the proceeds from the cupcake going to Oxfam. S’more is a graham cracker-lined Belgian dark chocolate cake filled with bittersweet chocolate ganache and topped with toasted marshmallow frosting.

The King -- Jan 6 to 8

Just in time for Elvis’ 77th birthday, celebrate his favorite flavors with Sprinkles’ fresh banana cake topped with creamy peanut butter frosting and adorned with a shiny gold star.

German Chocolate -- Jan 6 to 29

Piled high atop a light chocolate cake, the topping on this Southern classic is a rich, golden caramel laced with fresh coconut and crunchy pecans.
