World-renowned florist Preston Bailey made his premiere West Coast appearance at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla on March 5.
Bailey has created floral designs for Oprah Winfrey and Donald Trump, and his work has been featured in Vanity Fair, Vogue and “Sex and the City: The Movie.”
At the event, which was hosted by Village Garden Club of La Jolla, Bailey shared his life story with attendees - he was born in Panama and became a florist out of necessity in the 1980s. The job turned into a passion, and an appearance on Martha Stewart’s show sent his career into motion.
After Bailey’s presentation, a reception was held across the street at the St. James Hall, where he signed copies of his book, “Inspirations.”
