Fisheries being studied
Hoover High School graduate Edgar Trujillo was chosen as one of 35 students across the United States, Canada and Mexico to participate in the 2009 Hutton Junior Fisheries Biology Program, an innovative education program sponsored by the American Fisheries Society (AFS).
The principal goal of the Hutton Program is to stimulate interest in careers in fisheries science and management among groups underrepresented in the fisheries professions.
Trujillo is spending this summer at NOAA’s Southwest Fisheries Science Center in La Jolla, where scientists are providing him with practical applications of marine science before he attends UCSD this fall.
