Fatal crash on Nautilus involves woman

A 67-year-old woman was killed early Monday morning when her vehicle crashed into a tree, a wall and a fence in La Jolla, police said.

The accident occurred in the 700 block of Nautilus Street around 2:30 a.m., according to San Diego police Sgt. David Jennings, adding that paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene at 2:45 a.m. No other injuries were reported.

The woman was alone in the car, Jennings said. Her name was not immediately released.

The cause of the crash was under investigation. It was not immediately clear whether alcohol or speed may have been a factor, Jennings said.
