Fashion Week San Diego back on

Fashion Week San Diego has been rescheduled. The event, which was originally supposed to be held Sept. 28-Oct. 5 at the Sheraton San Diego Hotel & Marina, will now happen Oct. 2-5 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt.

The event that’s billing itself as “the only bi-national Fashion Week in the United States” will include runway shows and parties at downtown nightclubs.

Earlier this month, Fashion Week was postponed due to the creator, Allison Andrews, breaking her pelvis. Fashion Week was originally supposed to be postponed to early 2009, but an announcement was made today that this scaled-down version of the event would go on:

9 p.m. to 2 a.m. Oct. 2

On Broadway Event Center

Fashion-palooza. Live Bands and DJ’s. Party with the FWSD designers at San Diego’s Super Club. Existing VIP’s free, $15 at the door.

6 p.m. to 12 a.m. Oct. 3

Manchester Grand Hyatt’s KIN Lounge

FWSD Designers Runway Shows: The best looks from their Spring 2009 collections, hosted bar by Stoli Elite for the first two hours and butler passed appetizers. Live entertainment by the Lion Crowns. Free self parking. Tickets online $50, at the door $70.

12 to 3 p.m. Oct. 4

Manchester Grand Hyatt’s TBA ballroom

Full collections of more than 20 pieces from each designer. Portion of the ticket sales from this day go to the Child Abuse Prevention Foundation. Moet & Chandon hosted champagne for first hour. $15 online and at the door.

12 to 3 p.m. Oct. 5

Moonstone Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel

No Ties Model Management open casting call. Meet and greet designers of FWSD and the FWSD DJ. Moet & Chandon hosted champagne for first hour. $10 online, $15 at the door.
