Famed racecar driver inducted into Hall of Fame

The San Diego Automotive Museum held its 20th anniversary benefit gala last month at the US Grant Hotel. The event featured dinner, dancing and the induction of racecar driver Dan Gurney into the Hall of Fame. Gurney is the first museum Hall of Fame inductee since 2003.

A historic 1930 Model A car from the museum’s collection and a VIP package to the 2009 Long Beach Grand Prix were auctioned off at the event.

The gala raised funds for the preservation of the museum’s collection of historic automobiles and to support educational programs for disadvantaged youth.
