Fair attendance sets new record
A record number of people apparently went to the San Diego County Fair this year, breaking last year’s record by about 64,000.
More than 1.338 million trips to the 22-day event, which ended Monday, were recorded this year compared with more than 1.274 million trips last year, according to fair organizers.
A record for the busiest day also was set this year, with 60,841 trips in a single day compared with the old record of 58,843 in 2008, organizers said.
However, it was not immediately clear whether the attendance numbers excluded those fair-goers who purchased passes that allowed them unlimited access under a promotion that was new this year.
