Event toasts ‘Art in the Heart of La Jolla’
Artists and members of La Jolla Art Association toasted each other’s good health celebrating ‘Art in the Heart of La Jolla,’ a program to beautify the community, at an reception at Burgundy Grill & Wine Bar on July 16.
For the second year under the program, paintings done by local artists in a wide variety of styles and subjects will adorn 22 trash receptacles in the Village. Public art is part of the continuing mission of La Jolla Art Association, which has provided cultural and educational programs benefiting the community since 1918. In the future, the association would like to expand its public art on trash receptacles to other parts of town, and perhaps even to temporarily unoccupied commercial storefront space.
