After several days of private pre-opening events, Eddie V’s Prime Seafood opened to the public at 4 p.m. Monday at 1270 Prospect St.
The restaurant, located at the site of the former Chart House, has two decks overlooking the La Jolla Cove — with views into the sea caves. The menu features such dishes as New Zealand Barramundi Meuniere-style, Maryland-style All Lump Crab Cake, Loch Duarte Salmon lightly smoked, Pacific Halibut steamed “Hong Kong” style and Lemon Sole in Parmesan Crust, along with other favorites such as Maine Lobster Tacos, North Atlantic scallops and premium Black Angus steaks. The setting is relaxed, refined and filled with the rhythms of nightly live music from the V Lounge.
President and CEO of Eddie V’s Jim Van Dercook, who working in restaurants at La Jolla’s Alfonso’s, said in a press release that “La Jolla has been a dream of the Eddie V’s restaurant group for many years. Until now, we could not find a suitable location that coincided with the ambience of our Eddie V’s concept. This location embodies the very essence of what we have been searching for with its extraordinary views and natural beauty.”
