Driver being extricated from vehicle in crash near Estancia Hotel

Police are responding to a serious accident in an apparent solo-vehicle accident on North Torrey Pines Road.

“A car hit a utility pole and they’re extricating a person trapped in the car across from the Estancia Hotel at 9600 N. Torrey Pines Road,” said Lee Swanson, San Diego Fire-Rescue spokesman, who added the incident happened at 11:15 a.m. today.

Traffic was reportedly backed up due to the incident.

No other information was immediately available.
