Danish electronics store opens on Girard

Bang & Olufsen, known worldwide for its high-end consumer electronics products and its unique retail environment, has opened its first La Jolla store at 7722 Girard Ave.

The store, in 3,650 square feet of space that formerly housed Bo Danica, expands “the company’s tradition of excellence in design and technology,” said Zean Nielsen, president of the company’s American subsidiary.

One of Bang & Olufsen’s signature products is its BeoLiving concept, which provides customized audio and video products that connect to lighting, draperies and environmental control modules through a single remote control.

The company, founded in 1929 in Denmark, has stores in 100 countries. Its North American subsidiary is based in Chicago.
