The San Diego County District Attorney’s Office on Wednesday received a Digital Government Achievement Award for computer-animated courtroom exhibits, it was announced Wednesday.

Investigative technicians from the District Attorney’s Trial Support Services division were recognized for the innovation, efficiency and functionality of 3-D computer animations used by prosecutors to present evidence during trials.

The Center for Digital Government annually hands out 50 awards nationwide, recognizing outstanding agency and department websites and projects at the application and infrastructure level.

“Technology is changing the way we try our cases in front of a jury,” said District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis. “More and more, our deputy DAs are moving from large poster boards to options like computer animation. I’m proud of the way our office is leveraging technology in the pursuit of justice.”
