Crime Report: House fire on La Jolla’s Gravilla Street Monday

An early morning fire Monday, feb. 17 caused about $150,000 in damage to a two-story La Jolla home and displaced five people who lived there, fire officials said. The non-injury fire in the 300 block of Gravilla Street near La Jolla boulevard was reported about 3:15 a.m. firefighters had it knocked down in 25 minutes, a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.

The fire caused about $100,000 in damage to the property and another $50,000 in damage to its contents, the dispatcher said. What sparked the blaze remained undetermined, he said.

The American red Cross was called to assist the home’s five adult residents, the dispatcher said.
