Controlled burn scheduled near Miramar
People who live, work or commute in areas surrounding Marine Corps Air Station Miramar may see smoke and flames from the direction of the base Saturday as military emergency-services crews take part in a routine controlled burn.
The training and brush-clearing operation is scheduled to run from about 9 a.m. to noon, according to the USMC station’s public affairs office.
The airfield prescribed fire is not expected to cause any visibility problems for motorists, base officials said.
