Pinback’s indie rock music will open the summer concert series Friday night at the Del Mar racetrack. While a rotating cast of instrumentalists find loose assembly under the Pinback name, the partnership of Armistead Burwell Smith IV and Rob Crow is at the heart of the most complex, postmodern sounds on the West Coast.
Racetrack concerts are Fridays and select Saturdays at the Seaside Terrace, on the west end of the grandstand. Concerts are free with track admission bought before the last race or $20 for concertgoers entering after the horses have left the gate for the last race.
