Coastkeeper gets grant

Share

San Diego Coastkeeper, an environmental organization working to protect coastal waters, received a $35,000 grant from the San Diego Women’s Foundation and became one of its 2010 Community Partners. The grant funds Coastkeeper’s marine debris program, which includes helping more than 16,000 volunteers to remove approximately 180,000 pounds of trash annually.

The foundation recognized Coastkeeper during a recent celebration at the Neurosciences Institute. Other 2010 Community Partners include the Torrey Pines Docent Society and the Ocean Discovery Institute.
