Class helps cancer patients explore self-esteem, intimacy
The American Cancer Society is offering a series of free monthly “I Can Cope” classes for cancer patients and for those who provide care to cancer patients. The next session will be from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 19, and will cover “Exploring Self-Esteem and Intimacy.” Classes are offered over the phone so that participants in the program can call in from the privacy of their home or office.
The class is meant to enhance the knowledge and skills that empower patients and caregivers to cope more effectively with cancer challenges. Carolynn Peterson, RN, will be the professional facilitator. Patients will have an opportunity to ask questions.
Those interested can call the American Cancer Society’s toll-free number (800) ACS-2345 by Tuesday, Aug. 12, to pre-register.
