Church celebrates start of school year

Share

This Sunday, La Jolla United Methodist Church celebrates the beginning of the school year with Christian Education Sunday and the start of its Sunday school fall semester.

The Sunday school curriculum “Rock Solid” begins for infants and toddlers though fifth grade and a new program, “Youth Up Front,” begins for students in middle school through high school.

Sunday school teachers and the curriculum will be introduced, followed by a special “time with children.” The teachers will then take the children (preschool through fifth grade) to their Sunday school classes.

Youth in middle school through high school are invited to sit in the front row for the service and then adjourn to the Youth Lounge after the sermon for discussion.

The worship service and all Christian education activities begin at 10 a.m. Infants and toddlers are encouraged to begin their morning activities in Room 13, where childcare is provided, and all other children are invited to come to the sanctuary with their parents for the beginning of the morning worship service.

A potluck and “bouncy house” set up for the children will wrap up the morning.

La Jolla United Methodist Church is at 6063 La Jolla Blvd. Call (858) 454-7108.
