Charity Ball raises funds for Rady Children’s Hospital

The Charity Ball - the grande dame of social events in San Diego - celebrated its 98th anniversary recently at the Hotel del Coronado. Proceeds from the gala were earmarked to benefit the Rady Children’s Hospital Pediatric Dental Residency Program, a vital and critically-needed program that provides clinical and didactic education for dental residents.

The evening began in the hotel’s Carousel Room with a pre-ball reception honoring box holders and major donors, chaired by Susan Houser and Debi Kelly, and as Charity Ball Chair Kimberly Miller announced, the event set a record by raising more than $400,000.

As usual La Jollans were among the many staunch supporters on hand, including Carol and Jeff Chang, Liz and Michael Copley, Murray and Patty Rome, Cindy and Tom Goodman, Kristi Pieper and Michael Rossbacher, Sally and John Thornton, Jennifer and Richard Greenfield, Bob and Nancy Kronemyer, Stuart and Lisa Lipton, Phyllis and John Parrish, Andrea and Joseph Schmidt and Dixie and Ken Unruh.
