Courts and city, county and state government offices in San Diego will be closed Tuesday in observance of Cesar Chavez Day.
There will be a one-day delay in trash, yard waste and curbside recycling collection in the city of San Diego for the rest of the week. Trash collection will return to its normal schedule April 6.
Parking meters won’t be enforced in San Diego.
All city and county branch libraries will be closed, but parks and municipal golf courses will be open.
Cesar Chavez Day was established to celebrate the birthday of the late founder of the United Farm Workers of America union. Chavez is credited with helping improve the lives of migrant farm workers and is recognized as a civil rights leader.
