Century Club aids schools

The Century Club of San Diego, the non-profit organization that manages the annual Farmers Insurance Open PGA TOUR golf tournament and other charity events to benefit the San Diego community, announced that participants in the Support Our Schools (SOS) Program for the 2010 tournament at Torrey Pines raised $378,350.

Schools sell tickets for $17 each to the annual golf tournament and keep all but $2 of the proceeds, which covers administrative costs, resulting in a net to the schools of more than $330,000. The Century Club of San Diego also operates a similar program for any 501(c) (3) organization, called Chip-In for Charity, which has generated over $700,000 for nonprofit organizations since its inception six years ago.
