Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet performance cancelled
La Jolla Music Society has cancelled the April 24 performances at 2
and 8 p.m. of Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet at the Birch North Park Theatre.
With the continuation of restrictions on air travel throughout Europe, prompted by the Icelandic volcanic ash cloud, the Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet Company is unable to travel out of Germany until flights resume. With the unpredictability of the conditions in Europe’s airspace and the 63,000 flights that have been cancelled since last Thursday,
La Jolla Music Society’s President & Artistic Director Christopher Beach, along with the management of the Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet agreed to cancel their performance due to the uncertainty that the company can arrive in San Diego in sufficient time for the performances. La Jolla Music Society has made this decision preemptively with the hope of giving ticket holders as much notice of the cancellation as possible.
This marks the second cancellation of a Cedar Lake Contemporary Ballet performance due to the natural disaster on their current tour. The April 21 performance at Stanford University’s Lively Arts was already cancelled, and the tour is currently scheduled to resume at the Center for the Arts in Jackson, Wyoming (May 1), Whitebird Dance of Portland, Oregon (May 5) and returning to California at UCLA Live! (May 7-8).
All ticket buyers will be contacted directly by either the La Jolla Music Society box office or Birch North Park Theatre box office for information on refunds. Ticket holders that have not been contacted by Thursday April 29 should follow up with their point of purchase.
If you have any further questions please contact La Jolla Music Society box office at(858) 459-3728 or email boxoffice@LJMS.org. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm.
