Carnival Cruises to offer new Mexican Riviera trips
Carnival Cruise Lines will begin five- and nine-day cruises from San Diego to the Mexican Riviera aboard the 2,124-passenger Carnival Spirit, starting Dec. 10, it was announced Monday.
The five-day cruises will make a two-day stop in Cabo San Lucas, according to Carnival. The nine-day cruises will also have a two-day stop in Cabo San Lucas, but also make visits to Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and La Paz.
It is the first time Carnival has made port stops in La Paz, according to the cruise line.
“Carnival Spirit’s convenient new schedule from San Diego provides consumers with two distinctly different West Coast cruise choices — a value-packed five-day cruise and a port-intensive nine-day itinerary, both calling at world-class resort destinations along the Mexican Riviera,” said Gerry Cahill, Carnival’s chief executive officer.
According to Carnival, the two-day visits to Cabo San Lucas were the result of feedback from customers, who wanted more time to enjoy the popular destination.
The new cruise itinerary will run from Dec. 10 to April 1, according to Carnival.
