Career expo part of science festival

Workshops on trends, job tips part of event

The second free career development night where people can find out about jobs in high tech, biotech, health care tech or clean tech is set from 5 to 8 p.m. March 23 at UCSD Extension’s Sorrento Mesa Center.

The program, part of San Diego’s largest celebration of science, the San Diego Science Festival, is just one of hundreds of free events beginning March 20 and culminating in Expo Day at Petco Park on March 27.

The festival features citywide events at public libraries, San Diego State University, private companies, UCSD, local schools, Balboa Park and other locations throughout the region.

The closing event, Expo Day, is an interactive exploration of science offering attendees more than 150 hands-on exhibits and experiments by science and technology firms and research labs.

At the March 23 career event, workshops on new and emerging trends in science, business, health care and digital arts will be offered along with job tips from industry professionals. All workshops will be panels with representation from instructors/advisers, industry professionals, professional associations and alumni.

The event is sponsored by ESET and Life Technologies.

Parking is free. The center is at 6925 Lusk Blvd.
