California Association of Realtors honors Bill Mitchell
La Jollan Bill Mitchell was recently named an Honorary Member for Life by the California Association of Realtors. In addition, he was saluted by the San Diego Board of Realtors for having been a member for more than 40 years and having reached age 79.
“It seems like yesterday that I joined the Board of Realtors in July of 1958 within a couple of weeks of having graduated from UCLA,” he said in a news release. “Three-bedroom homes that I sold for $20,000 are now selling for about $1.2 million. The values have continued to go up, with a few down markets along the way.”
Mitchell, a former San Diego councilman, sold homes and commercial property and land for 52 years. He works with his wife, Mary, and now manages a medical center while still selling real estate. She is a teacher at La Jolla Presbyterian’s preschool.
