Burn Institute shares its heart

The Burn Institute Auxiliary threw another fundraiser at the Hall of Champions recently. Dubbed Share Your Heart, the event was the 15th annual gala to benefit the good works of the Burn Institute. The evening’s festivities included wine tastings, sampling culinary delights from several local restaurants, an auction, and casino gaming.

Robert Breitbard (founding father of the Hall of Champions) and Gerald and Carolyn Davee (Gerald is the Chairman of the Board of the Burn Institute) were among the generous La Jolla supporters on the Honorary Committee. TV news anchor Kimberly Hunt was the emcee once again, and Executive Chef Diane Stopford of Cendio (one of La Jolla’s newest restaurants) was among the talented chefs serving their wares to the large crowd.

Among the local silent auction donors were Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza, the La Jolla Playhouse, Roppongi, The Birch Aquarium, and Rubio’s. Randy Jones (a Padres Hall of Famer) served as live auctioneer when one-of-a-kind items, such as the chance to be a firefighter for a day and an opportunity to take batting practice with Coach Tony Muser prior to a Padres game were on the block.
