Burn ban imposed on state lands

Due to weather-related wildfire risks, the California Department of Forestry on Friday suspended issuance of burn permits and other uses of open fire on all state lands in San Diego County until further notice.

The sole exception to the order is campfires in facilities expressly designated for that purpose on public campgrounds, the CDF advised.

The temporary prohibition was prompted by the onset of a spell of warm, dry and breezy weather in the region.
