Brush fire breaks out near La Jolla

A small brush fire Sunday in San Diego was quickly put out by firefighters.

The fire broke out about 3:45 p.m. near Interstate 5 at the State Route 52 junction, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The fire was put out by crews from the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department, a fire dispatcher said.

Some leaves on the side of the road caught fire, the CHP reported.
