Silent Film: “Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.” The Teeny-Tiny Pit Orchestra for Silent Films presents the 1920 silent classic with live music and sound effects, 7 p.m. Oct. 31, in the Seuss Room of Geisel Library at UCSD. Free admission. This is the first American film version of the classic Robert Louis Stevenson tale. John Barrymore stars as both Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. UCSD Monster Pumpkin Drop: Students will drop a humongous candy-filled pumpkin from the 11th story of Tioga Hall, the tallest building on the Muir College campus, at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 31. The pumpkin’s “splat” is measured each year. The largest splat in the history of the pumpkin drop occurred in 1995, when a 398-pound pumpkin spewed over 100 feet.
