Blast off!

UCSD officials past and present gathered Oct. 14 to unveil the new San Diego Supercomputer Center, pushing a huge button unleashing streams of confetti to usher in the next era of data-intensive computing. Speakers included UCSD Chancellor Marye Anne Fox, Supercomputer Center Director Francine Berman, former UC president and UCSD chancellor Robert Dynes, UCSD Vice Chancellor of Research Arthur Ellis and Freider Seible, dean of UCSD’s Jacobs School of Engineering.
