Bishop’s welcomes sixth-grade class
The Bishop’s School recently welcomed its first sixth-grade class to the middle school program. The 32 boys and girls, being taught by Catherine Michaud and Cory Logan, come from all across San Diego County. By Aug. 18, the students were in the swing of classes, working on a history project. On Aug. 21, they joined all of Bishop’s other students in a Matriculation Ceremony on the quad, where the 203 new students were welcomed into the school community in a tradition that dates to the 13th and 14th centuries. During the ceremony, students are recognized as members of a particular academic community and commit to uphold that community’s norms and values.
