Auditions set for stage reading at Riford

Residents interested in joining The Riford Center’s new Readers Theater are invited to attend auditions for a staged reading of Arthur Miller’s “A View From The Bridge,” its first production.

Drop-in auditions will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. March 6 and 6 to 9 p.m. March 8 at the center, 6811 La Jolla Blvd. The staged reading will take place at 7:30 p.m. March 22 with two prior rehearsals.

“There are parts for ages 17 and upward,” said Davida Huchel, Readers Theater Project Coordinator. “It is our hope that adults interested in community theater will come out to help us eventually reinstate a theater group in town.

“We see this group as staging readings throughout the year, as well as presenting some productions in the schools and senior housing. This first event will be a precursor to working with local playwrights and others on future projects.”
