UC San Diego released an artist’s rendering today of a young man who raped a student on the La Jolla-area campus three weeks ago.

The victim told police the attacker, who appeared to be in his late teens or early 20s, ran up to her as she stood next to her car in a lot at the university about 8:15 p.m. on Feb. 3, knocked her to the ground between two vehicles and sexually assaulted her.

Following the rape, the perpetrator, who was wearing blue jeans and short-sleeved shirt, ran off toward North Torrey Pines Road, according to UCSD police.

The student described him as a clean-shaven, 5-foot-9-inch to 6-foot- tall Asian with black hair and a medium build.

University officials asked anyone with information about the case to call the UCSD Police Department at (858) 534-4357.
