The cows are coming.
And because of the economy, they’re coming to La Jolla in March.
Don’t worry though about the image of cows parading through the Village. The will be fiberglass cows and only 50, instead of the more than 200 that had been set to come to San Diego early next year.
The event features life-size fiberglass cows designed by local artists. Each cow has a corporate or individual sponsor. Following the public exhibit, which runs from March 15 to June 15, the cows will be auctioned off and proceeds from CowParade La Jolla will go to Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego and the Zoological Society of San Diego.
CowParade maintains an artist lab at Liberty Station, 2855 Perry Road. The public can watch artists at work there each Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
