Arson suspected in Clairemont school fire
An apparent arson fire at Oliver Wendell Holmes Elementary School in Clairemont caused about $77,500 damage, a fire department dispatcher said today.
The non-injury fire at 4902 Mount Ararat Drive was reported at 11:08 p.m. Thursday, according to a San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher.
Firefighters had the flames knocked down by about 11:30 p.m., the dispatcher said.
The fire caused about $75,000 in damage to the property and another $2,500 in damage to its contents, he said.
The fire was believed to have been intentionally set, the dispatcher said.
