Arrest made in Pacific Beach for North Harbor Drive murder case

San Diego Police Department Homicide Unit detectives have arrested a suspect in the Jan. 19, 2012 murder of Darrin Joseph. Detectives identified Shane Grattan, 55, as the suspect in the murder. This morning, at approximately 11:15 a.m., SDPD patrol officers located and arrested Grattan in the 1600 block of Garnet Avenue in Pacific Beach.

Grattan was booked into San Diego County Jail for the murder.

On Jan. 19, at approximately 8:30 a.m., a citizen walking through the San Diego Port District parking lot, along the 4900 block of North Harbor Drive, noticed the deceased body of Darrin Joseph, 45, in the bushes. Arriving officers and medics noticed suspicious trauma to Joseph’s body so the Homicide Unit was assigned to investigate the death. An autopsy was conducted and Joseph’s death was determined to be a homicide.
