Area teens participate in Mock Trial event

La Jolla High, top, and Bishop’s School, above, students competed recently in the San Diego County Bar Association Mock Trial event.

Bishop’s finished second to Otay Ranch High and La Jolla placed fourth. In addition to the bar association, organizers included the San Diego Superior Court, the Constitutional Rights Foundation and the San Diego District Attorney’s Office.

In addition, Sam Brier of Bishop’s was named Outstanding Prosecution Pretrial Motion Attorney; Justin Howard of Bishops, the Outstanding Defense attorney; and Emily Abbot of La Jolla, the Outstanding Defense Witness. Attorneys Jennifer Kaplan and Lisa Missett coached Bishop’s, and Danielle Hickman and Patrician Herian coached La Jolla.
