Aquatic Adventures hosts event at Birch Aquarium

Aquatic Adventures - an organization dedicated to educating urban youth about science, the ocean and nature - threw a party at The Birch Aquarium at Scripps dubbed, “Bubble Up,” recently.

The black-tie affair featured student-led tours of the exhibits, cocktails and dinner, and music by Gypsy Jazz. Profits from silent and live auctions will help Aquatic Adventures with its mission.

Sean Caddell and Vincy Dunmire chaired the successful bash, with a host committee that included Joel and Linda Fisler, Christopher and Cindy Garrett, Gary and Gail Hooker, Floyd and Yvette Pickrell, Elizabeth Keadle and other staunch supporters.

The large local crowd enjoying the festivities included Rita Hitchin, Christina & Kathy Beal, Katherine and Kevin Faulconer, Mark Daitch, Yvette Packrell & Kasey Cannon, David & Nadine Greco and Dana Stein. Beads of La Jolla, the Birch Aquarium, Brockton Villa Restaurant, Club La Jolla, and Birdrock Bikini were among the local businesses contributing to the evening’s success. The French Gourmet catered the affair.
