Amtrak delayed after train clips truck

An Amtrak train clipped the rear of a tractor-trailer in Midtown on Tuesday, delaying a trailing Coaster train for 15-20 minutes but injuring no one.

The crash at Pacific Highway and Washington Street was reported at 7:11 a.m., San Diego police said.

A northbound Coaster train behind the Amtrak train was delayed 15-20 minutes, but a double set of tracks enabled other trains to pass, North County Transit District spokeswoman Sarah Benson said.

How the truck ended up on the tracks was under investigation.
