Aguerre steps down from Surf Industry post

La Jolla resident Fernando Aguerre has resigned his post as president of the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association Humanitarian Fund and his chairmanship of the Liquid Nation Ball, effective immediately.

He will remain on the fund’s board as a director.

In a SIMA statement, Aguerre said a back injury caused by a surfing accident led to a recent surgery that necessitates focusing on his health.
